Well, Saturday, June 3rd started the way the past 10 days had gone – RAIN! RAIN! RAIN! And it was the Lake Placid Police Departments Bicycle Rodeo. Even though it was extremely wet and there were only 26 youths that attended – the LPPD held its very first “BIKE-LESS Rodeo”. And it was a great success.
All came together at St. Agnes School gym for a few hours of fun and learning about bicycle safety. Participants were able to maneuver through our “bike-less” course on “scooters”. Along with the course, participants and parents were entertained by Hoo-Dee-Do the Clown and his lovely assistant and couple a very large “Bounce-Houses” just to assure that everyone went home tired.
But what “Bike Rodeo” would be complete without lunch being provided by “Len-Dog” and ice cream delights provided by “Bobo’s Ice Cream”.
The grand prizewinner of a brand new bicycle was Katie Sherman – 9 years old – from Lake Placid. Congratulations Katie!
